Truck Driver Job Description
This position is supervised by the ReStore Manager & Warehouse Asst Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Drives Habitat for Humanity vehicle to pick up donated goods.
· Move large pieces of furniture throughout the day utilizing dollies and partners etc.
· Follow the scheduled pickup route provided by the ReStore.
· Using extreme care and picking up items from donors' homes using proper loading equipment.
· Determine if donated items are in good sellable condition and be willing to deny items that are not.
· Using extreme care, load and secure all items in the vehicle, using straps/blankets.
· Using extreme care, unload all items at the ReStore.
· Assists warehouse staff in processing items and placing items on the sales floor.
· Communicate with ReStore staff regarding pick-ups each day.
· Creates and maintains good relationships with donors.
· Responsible for paperwork to donor and ReStore.
· Perform minor maintenance checks on our vehicle.
· Represent Amarillo Habitat for Humanity & the ReStore through both driving courtesy and polite interactions.
· Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Work Tuesday - Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
· Must be able to work as a team player.
· Requires a good driving record. Valid License, No DUI/DWI, etc.
· Ability to accept and follow instructions.
· Possess some vehicle mechanical aptitude. Checking fluids etc.
· Possess interpersonal skills and customer service. Ability to deal with difficult situations while keeping composure.
· Willingness to follow all ReStore policies.
· Understand the mission of Habitat and the purpose of the ReStore which is to help build homes for low-income families.
· Effective written and oral communication.
· Truck driving experience preferred (no CDL required)
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
· Must be able to stand, squat, bend, and climb in/out of the truck.
· Be able to move heavy pieces of furniture all-day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
