Warehouse Department Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Reports to and assists the Store Manager and Assistant Manager.
· Receive donations from the back dock and move large pieces of furniture within the store, including sleeper sofas, appliances, etc. (Moving heavy pieces of furniture throughout the day).
· Give direction to the warehouse team by preparing, cleaning, and testing all merchandise while promoting safety procedures in moving large pieces of furniture, appliances, cabinets etc.
· Oversee our donation pickup service team.
· Drive a 16-foot box truck to pick up items from businesses or homes, as needed. (Regular Class C license required). Maintain regular maintenance checks on the truck.
· Be able to open and close the store each day.
· Backup the manager in difficult situations and be a witness/give input in staff counseling sessions.
· Enforce and help staff adhere to ReStore policies.
· Manage staff & store in the Manager’s absence with the Assistant Manager.
· Backup cashier.
· Maintain good working relations with donors and customers.
· Determine if items are in good sellable condition or work properly.
· Train staff in pricing items and help look up items to find a price.
· Maintain a clean and well-displayed ReStore.
· Work with and direct volunteers.
· Maintain supplies and tools. Keep all areas clean and organized.
· As needed, reconcile cash drawers and daily worksheets.
· Be available to help in any area of the store.
Required Skills and Experience:
·Move large pieces of furniture
·Operate in Integrity in all areas and willingness to follow ALL store policies.
· Retail experience with excellent customer service.
· Self-motivated.
· Ability to direct and oversee employees.
· Ability to be Acting Manager when Store Manager is away.
· Ability to accept and follow instructions.
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
· Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day and be on your feet the majority of the day.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 39 per week
