Interviews (the average number of interviews is 3 - the number may vary depending on the level of seniority required for the position). During the interviews, you will meet people from our team: your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. We will talk in depth about you, your experience, and skills, but also about the position and what will be expected of you. Case study: Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Preclinical Biostatistician to join our team and act as the bridge between our teams in the USA/Canada and Japan. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide statistical analysis and support for preclinical research, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data used to assess new compounds in animal models. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic, multinational team focused on advancing preclinical research in the field of neurology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary link between the USA/Canada and Japan teams, facilitating communication and collaboration across regions.
• Provide statistical support for preclinical research projects, including the design and analysis of animal model studies for efficacy and safety assessment.
• Analyze data from EEG studies to interpret brain wave activity and motor function data in disease models such as Parkinson’s disease.
• Support scientists with statistical analysis to interpret experimental data and deliver actionable insights.
• Assist with video analysis to quantify motor behaviors in animal disease models.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and publications to communicate findings to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with researchers and scientists from both the US and Japan to ensure consistency and quality in the analysis of experimental data.

Requirements:

• Fluency in Japanese (100%) and English—essential for clear communication with teams in Japan and the USA.
• Experience: 5 years in biostatistics, specifically with preclinical research or animal model studies.
• Strong background in statistical analysis techniques for preclinical and clinical data, including proficiency with statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, or Python).
• Experience with EEG analysis and video analysis to quantify behaviors in animal models is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and relevant regulatory guidelines.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work across teams in multiple locations.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field.

Additional Information:

• The position will be remote but requires the candidate to be based on the West Coast of the US or Canada to work closely with both the US/Canada and Japan teams.
• This is a full-time, contract position.
