Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Sand Blaster & Painter to join our fabrication shop in Lafayette, LA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for surface preparation, sandblasting, and applying coatings to fabricated metal components to meet quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform sandblasting to remove rust, paint, and other contaminants from metal surfaces.
- Apply industrial coatings, primers, and paints using spray equipment or brushes.
- Inspect surfaces before and after blasting/painting to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Operate and maintain blasting and painting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including proper PPE usage and environmental regulations.
- Assist with material handling, masking, and cleanup of work areas.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sandblasting and industrial painting (preferred).
- Ability to operate painting and blasting equipment properly.
- Familiarity with different types of industrial coatings and application techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, working in enclosed spaces).
- Willingness to work in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to dust, fumes, and varying temperatures.
Schedule & Pay:
- Full-time position with overtime opportunities.
