What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Load Driver position at Amass Solutions LLC?
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Monday–Friday, 4:45 AM–5:00 PM; Rotating
Saturdays (1 in 3), 6:45 AM–10:00am (estimated completion of route).
General Purpose:
The Front Load Driver is responsible for the collection and transportation of commercial waste. The driver ensures proper disposal at the transfer station while adhering to DOT regulations, road safety laws, and company standards. Additionally, the driver is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall condition of the front load truck before and after use.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate the assigned front load truck safely and professionally on public highways, roads, and within commercial and residential areas.
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip safety and maintenance inspections, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Refuel the truck using the assigned truck fuel number and individual fuel number.
- Service all assigned customers on the route sheet or as directed by the Dispatch Manager.
- Maintain route accuracy by documenting issues such as No Trash Out (NTO), including the time and necessary photos via software.
- Immediately contact the Dispatch Manager while on location if unable to service a customer.
- Operate front load forks safely to lift and empty customer containers into the truck.
- Complete required tablet entries as per company policies (updates will be provided with new software implementation).
- Assist in covering additional routes if needed after completing the assigned route.
- Salvaging and scavenging are strictly prohibited on the route and in the yard.
- Complete and submit Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) at the end of each shift.
- Dispose of waste at the transfer station at the end of each shift—do not leave waste in the truck overnight.
- Work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Interact courteously with customers.
- Report all discrepancies, damages, or issues to the Dispatch Manager immediately.
- Maintain excellent attendance—punctuality is critical in this essential business. Excessive absences or tardiness may result in termination.
- May need to physically move cans from and out of enclosures, etc., to allow for easier dumping.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills/Abilities:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or B.
- Hold a current medical certificate.
- Pass and complete a DOT physical and road test.
- Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Regularly enter and exit the truck throughout the shift.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 75 lbs.
- Wear appropriate work attire—outer layers must be high-visibility colors.
- Be physically fit to meet the demands of the position, including standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
