Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Millwright Mechanic to join our team for an exciting turnaround opportunity in Riegelwood, NC. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and mechanical systems, with a focus on rotating equipment and turbomachinery/turbines. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot, align, and perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operational performance.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair rotating equipment, turbines, and other mechanical systems.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic work on mechanical systems to identify and resolve issues.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery to minimize downtime.
• Work with precision tools and equipment to align components accurately and ensure proper functionality.
• Safely disassemble, assemble, and repair machinery and equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure machinery is operating efficiently.
• Follow all safety procedures and practices to maintain a safe working environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Millwright Mechanic, with a focus on rotating equipment and turbomachinery/turbines.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Experience using mechanical hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to work in challenging environments, including tight spaces and elevated work areas.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience running a Rotalign or other laser alignment tools is a plus.
• Previous experience working on turbines or other complex rotating machinery.
• Experience working on GE Steam Turbines is highly preferred.
• Additional certifications in industrial maintenance or machinery repair are beneficial.

Working Conditions:

• This is a turnaround opportunity in Riegelwood, NC, which may require working long hours, including weekends, and in various weather conditions.
• This position may involve heavy lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
• PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be required on the job site.
