The Server will serve beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction and exceptional and memorable guest experiences.
- Minimum two-year-related server experience working in an upscale restaurant setting or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations, including responding promptly to customer needs and requests for service and assistance.
- Ability to maintain high professionalism; treat others with respect and consideration regardless of status or position.
- Knowledge of and ability to appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
- Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule and be at work and on time. This may occasionally require working outside of regularly scheduled hours. Schedules may vary based on business needs.
- Previous experience serving guests in a wine-tasting restaurant is preferred.
- A current ServSafe or Food Handler certification and an OLCC permit are required.
- Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations).
- Strong people skills to engage positively with management, staff, members, and the public.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. Experience with Tock, Toast, and Wine Direct is preferred but not required.
- Provided guest service to restaurant guests.
- Greeting guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promoting and documenting orders for drinks
- Protect establishments and guests following sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
- Help guests select food and beverages by presenting the menu, offering cocktails and aperitifs, suggesting courses, explaining the chef's specialties, identifying appropriate wines, and answering food preparation questions.
- Transmits orders to the bar and kitchen by recording guests' choices and identifying their special dietary needs and requests.
- Keep kitchen staff informed by noting the timing of meal progression.
- Serve orders by picking up and delivering guests' choices from the bar and kitchen and accompaniments and condiments from service bars.
- Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring about needs and observing the dining process.
- Maintains the table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to guest spills or other special needs.
- Concludes dining experience by acknowledging the choice of restaurant and inviting guests to return.
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness per Amaterra and Oregon state health guidelines.
- Serve as liaison with the front desk and restaurant managers regarding guests’ needs and comments.
- Receives cash from guests, makes changes needed, verifies the validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed to balance all money.
- Performs general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by the supervisor to adhere to health standards.
