The Wine Tasting Room Associate will collaborate with the General Manager and Executive Chef to lead exceptional and memorable guest experiences. This role focuses on sharing wine information and history and developing customer relations to enhance wine club initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a love and knowledge of wine and strong sales and leadership skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven experience with wine knowledge and history within a high-volume, upscale restaurant setting.
  • Formal wine knowledge training and education from an accredited program are preferred.
  • Previous experience greeting visitors in a wine-tasting restaurant preferred.
  • Previous wine-tasting/club sales preferred.
  • Current ServSafe certification or Food Handler certification and OLCC permit required.
  • Strong people skills to engage positively with management, staff, members, and the public.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience with Tock, Toast and Wine Direct is preferred, but not required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Greeting Tasting Room visitors
  • Share information and winery history.
  • Administer wine tastings and develop customer relations.
  • Conduct wine and wine club sales.
  • May also include working private parties & special events.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Lead and make decisions aligned with Amaterra Values.
  • Work evenings and weekends as required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Partner with the Executive Chef and General Manager to develop wine-tasting experiences and menus aligned with Amaterra’s brand and wine offerings.
  • Maintain open and consistent communication across all departments.
  • Assist in training and informing staff about wines.
  • Assist in planning and executing private wine-tasting events in coordination with key stakeholders.
