Job Summary
We are seeking a Production Manager with a strong background in lean manufacturing, cabinet production, and finishing to help lead our shop into its next stage of growth. This is not a role for someone looking to keep things running "as-is" — we need a hands-on leader who is excited to scale throughput, optimize workflows, and elevate operational performance without compromising our high standards of quality.
You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day cabinet production across departments, with a focus on velocity, capacity, quality control, and team accountability. The right candidate will bring both technical knowledge and a process improvement mindset, with the ability to lead people and implement scalable systems that support a growing volume of work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all production departments, including CNC, assembly, finishing, and delivery.
- Monitor and enhance production velocity and throughput, identifying and removing bottlenecks.
- Drive capacity planning, scheduling, and resource allocation based on current and projected workloads.
- Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles, focusing on waste reduction, flow, and repeatable processes.
- Work closely with design, install, and field teams to align production with job specifications and timelines.
- Ensure quality control standards are upheld at every build stage, with proactive issue identification and resolution.
- Provide training, coaching, and accountability to ensure high-performing, cross-functional teams.
- Track key production metrics and lead weekly reviews to promote transparency and continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of ownership, efficiency, and craftsmanship across the shop.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in cabinet or millwork production management, including finishing.
- Deep understanding of lean manufacturing systems, capacity planning, and process improvement.
- Ability to lead teams in a high-mix, custom production environment.
- Familiarity with common shop equipment, finishing systems, and cabinet assembly best practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills — able to lead from the floor and the meeting table.
- A problem-solver’s mindset, with the ability to prioritize, delegate, and adapt in real time.
- Experience developing KPIs, reporting dashboards, and production workflows.
- A leader who thrives on growth, challenge, and building better systems — not maintaining the status quo.
Why Join Us?
- Work for a company known for high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction
- Take ownership of a department with real opportunity to grow and scale
- Join a team that values clarity, accountability, and progress over politics
- Competitive compensation, benefits, and the chance to make a lasting impact
If you're ready to lead a production team toward smarter systems, higher throughput, and next-level execution, we want to hear from you. Qualified candidates only.
