We have an exciting role for a Wi-Fi Lab Engineer. Our team works closely with our internal and external development partners to develop and conduct quality testing on Wi-Fi products.
We are looking for a highly motivated technical person who will support our Wi-Fi labs and help test engineers when the testbeds or devices under test present issues that affect their function. This role will also keep our lab networks stable and dependable.
The Wi-Fi Test Lab Engineer will be responsible for testbed setup, testbed maintenance, testbed and equipment software updates, testbed vendor interaction, inventory and support for the lab technician.
Experience/ Technical Skills
- BS degree in Electrical or Network Engineering or related technical field
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good understanding of 802.11 standards and specs, IP, DHCP, VLAN and IoT testing (Zigbee, Bluetooth, Thread, etc.), and networking
- Troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills
- 3 - 4 years of experience in networking and wireless technologies
- Candidate must be able to capture and analyze packets using variety of tools like Wireshark and Omnipeek to analyze Wi-Fi issues with the testbeds.
- Should be able to extract, analyze and debug logs on Android and iOS
- Should have hands on experience with computers and equipment in general
- Good Knowledge on RF concepts is required: splitters, attenuators, antennas, amplifiers, connectors
- Hands on Spirent, Candela and Crecre testbed experience is very much preferred but not required.
- Ability to work with technology partner/vendor teams to troubleshoot problems
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance; able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
