We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the skills necessary to provide high-quality grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of pets while delivering exceptional customer service to pet owners. This role requires both technical grooming skills and the ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, clipping, and nail trimming for various breeds of dogs and cats.
- Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
- Handle animals with care, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area, including tools and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs, grooming styles, and any concerns observed during grooming.
- Provide excellent customer service to build strong relationships with clients.
- Assist in animal restraint when necessary to ensure safe handling during grooming procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive environment for both pets and staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming or a related field is preferred.
- Strong animal handling skills; experience as a veterinary assistant or technician is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or multiple pets.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Experience in kennel settings or pet sitting can enhance your application.
- Familiarity with equine care is a nice-to-have but not required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.
