IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Irrigation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems to meet clients’ needs while ensuring water efficiency and system effectiveness. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Diagnostics and Solutions: Design, install, and maintain efficient irrigation systems tailored to client requirements. Utilize appropriate irrigation heads and components based on varying setups and landscape needs. Identify and resolve issues in irrigation systems, including leaks, electrical malfunctions, and equipment failures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices to ensure all irrigation installations and repairs comply with local regulations and standards.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular system inspections and repairs to ensure optimal functionality.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all installations, inspections, inspections, and activities performed, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Education and Development: Participate in ongoing training and education programs to stay current with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members and clients to communicate findings, provide recommendations and instructions to ensure satisfaction of all services.
- Other Duties: Must be able to assist other departments, including work during the winter season, including but not limited to, salt spreading, shoveling, and operation of snow related equipment.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Minimum of a High School diploma or GED.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Certification in irrigation/backflow preferred.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, landscaping principles, and water conservation practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
- Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Commitment to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
- Knowledge of irrigation and landscaping principles to support the health and aesthetics of lawn and gardens through effective irrigation practices.
- Understanding of the principles and techniques of irrigation management.
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective solutions for relative issues.
- Excellent organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting and handling and operating equipment and materials weighing up to 50 lbs. or more.
- Must be able to perform duties that include standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
FLSA Classification:
- This position is classified as non-exempt (hourly) under the Fair labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is eligible for overtime pay as outlined in the company policy.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
