Daily Activities The technician begins their day by attending team briefings to review priorities and address any overnight issues. Throughout the day, they inspect and monitor various water system components including pipes, valves, pumps, and filtration equipment. They collect water samples, take readings, and perform quality tests to ensure systems meet operational standards. Routine maintenance forms a significant part of the role - cleaning filters, replacing worn components, calibrating instruments, and performing preventive maintenance on treatment equipment. When issues arise, technicians troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning components to minimize downtime. A key responsibility includes monitoring and maintaining non-contact cooling water retention ponds, addressing any exceedance issues promptly to ensure environmental compliance. Technicians maintain detailed documentation of all activities, record operational data, and prepare required reports. During emergencies, they respond quickly to mitigate situations and restore normal operations. They also participate in regular training to stay current with new technologies, equipment, and regulatory requirements. Team Structure The water infrastructure team works alongside three experienced Chief Engineers who collectively bring over 20 years of AWS experience.
