Help us push the availability and reliability of cloud infrastructure to new heights The AWS Center for Infrastructure Software and Controls team is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to drive global programs for the management and monitoring of power and cooling resources in Amazon data centers. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical abilities, strong attention to details, risk identification and management skills, and an ability to ask the right technical questions to ensure appropriate trade-offs are made when negotiating resources, determining priorities, and escalating successfully. Exceptional written and oral communication skills are required to lead effective meetings with stakeholders to drive business and technical discussions. Experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Rack (also known as "Legacy SCADA Rack"), Amazon Control System (ACS) Rack, Pegasus Network Rack, Colo draw-bridge Rack, IPN management, and deployment coordination is preferred. As a Data Center Technical Program Manager, you must be able to develop and maintain deep global subject matter expertise to identify and prioritize network hardware requirements to support data centers' controls, power, and cooling systems. You will be expected to take ownership and influence positive change, deploying and leveraging analytical data to drive scale, efficiency, performance, and automation improvement opportunities. Responsibilities include providing strategic insight across stakeholder teams during weekly business reviews and producing accurate and timely reporting on program status to leadership and business partners. The position will be based in one of the following locations, IAD, CMH, or SEA. It will also require occasional travel throughout the global AWS service area. Key job responsibilities

  • Lead strategic deployment readiness projects with significant technical depth and breadth.
  • End-to-end ownership of large-scale (global) network hardware projects and delivery including resources, CAPEX, schedule and vendor management.
  • Complex stakeholder management : work very closely with the CISC, DCS, ENI, CDS, and CDE launch and networking teams from project start and throughout lifecycle management.
  • Lead technical design reviews and propose design solutions for material handling and storage solutions that meet both business needs and leverage global design standardization.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Experienced in gathering requirements and developing server specifications
  • Experienced in compute and storage server architecture and design for large scale applications.
  • Create and manage workflow processes that can globally scale.
  • Develop and leverage analytical metrics to measure success of program goals.
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting on program status for business and finance partners.
  • Identify gaps in tooling, information, process and work to develop solutions.
  • Gather feedback from internal customers and stakeholders to drive program improvements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 years of technical product or program management experience
  • 3 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, geographic locations, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience leading overall end-to-end project delivery including resources, CAPEX, schedule and vendor management
  • Experienced in gathering requirements and developing server / network hardware specifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 years of working directly with engineering teams
  • Experience defining KPI's / SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent

The base pay for this position ranges from $133,800 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,300 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
