- 3 years of engineering team management experience
- 3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
The Demand Planning Tech Organization owns software and science models to forecast, plan, and order the amount of hardware (both core EC2 instances and GPU/accelerator instances) needed to keep EC2 running as the world's favorite elastic cloud. Our work ensures that AWS customers never run out of cloud computing capacity! These systems balance customer availability and cost/utilization at various time horizons (a few hours out to a few years out) and drive multi-billion dollar capex investments in AWS regions, AZ's, data centers and compute infrastructure. We are looking for an experienced development leader to lead a team of software development engineers. You will work closely with product management , science and other business partners to define strategy and visions, clarify requirements, and lead development teams from concept through delivery and subsequent operation. You will have regular communication with senior management on status, risks and product strategy, requiring strong written communications. You will be a thought leader, but you don't just know how to solve the problem, you prove it by leading team to build the solution. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
