Amazon Web Services is seeking a skilled software engineer to tackle innovative networking challenges at an exceptional scale! This position is part of the EC2 Networking organization where you will be key in enhancing features for the widely used Internet Gateway (IGW) within EC2's Virtual Private Cloud (VPC).

Key Job Responsibilities :
- As a Software Development Engineer (L5), you will work independently, delivering projects that are scoped at the team level and may interact with other teams.
- You will autonomously design, develop, and test software components while seeking input from senior engineers through regular reviews.
- You will receive guidance from managers, senior engineers, or principal engineers when facing challenging trade-off decisions.
- You will mentor new team members on the construction and operation of the team's services.
- Providing feedback during code and operations reviews, you will guide and influence the team while contributing during backlog reviews and planning meetings.
- You will solve complex technical issues, understanding the team's software, and weighing trade-offs to deliver logical, testable, and maintainable solutions.

Compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by factors including market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the role, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be included, alongside a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
