EC2 Nitro is at the forefront of our technology, powering the fastest-growing and most feature-rich compute cloud globally. Designed from the ground up, Nitro incorporates a fully custom stack of hardware, firmware, and applications, enabling EC2 to support various architectures while setting new standards in security and performance.
As part of the EC2 Server Provisioning team, you will play a critical role in transforming new servers into dedicated EC2 virtualized hosts, serving customer workloads globally. Every EC2 instance, across different host types and data centers, is a product of our team's expertise in managing distributed and asynchronous services operating at an unmatched scale.
Our team is responsible for establishing the essential software infrastructure that converts raw hardware from manufacturing into functioning cloud infrastructure, allowing customers to utilize the diverse range of EC2 instances available. The challenge spans millions of devices worldwide, and each new EC2 instance type is made possible through our provisioning services.
We require engineers who are adept at managing infrastructure without any downtime for our customers, ensuring the ongoing health of the expanding EC2 fleet. The fast-paced innovation and growing technological landscape demand a proactive approach to software development and operations.
Your work will primarily involve :
- Participating in the complete software development lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, testing, and monitoring.
- Developing and maintaining high-quality code in Java.
- Collaborating with EC2 Principal Engineers and technical leaders to define technical direction and execute detailed analyses and designs.

Compensation for this role is competitive and reflects labor costs across various U.S. geographic markets, with base pay ranging from $129,300 to $223,600 annually, depending on location and individual qualifications.
