POSTED ON 4/24/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/23/2025
Description

Amazon Luna is leveraging the power of the cloud to enable customers to experience the rich and immersive world of gaming on devices they already own, without the need to purchase a gaming console or gaming PC.

Game streaming is still in its early days and the Luna team strives to deliver a great experience to customers and be the most customer-obsessed gaming service available. Amazon Luna is delivering high quality video-game experiences to devices customers already own, enabling new gameplay experiences and making gaming accessible to new audiences. This position represents an exciting opportunity for engineers that want to contribute to the next generation of cloud gaming platform; and do it at an exciting scale.

This specific team operates the "Storefront" of Luna -that's "everything before you press play, and a little after that" - that's the website, SmartTV apps, mobile experiences, and FireTV and Tablet experiences. We own the "Player" charter - converting "Visitors" to active players on Luna by working with Product teams and designers to optimize the user experience.

Our team is looking for a Software Development Engineer who loves listening to our customers, working as a team, and proactively taking the lead whenever necessary. Luna moves fast and breaks the traditional expectations of gaming, and seeks candidates who thrive in ambiguity at an accelerated pace. You'll combine your passion for gaming and technology to bring customers the next generation of cloud gaming in an evolving space in the industry.

You will work closely with Senior Engineers and Product Managers to help design and build new highly scalable cloud-gaming features, as well as enhance and expand existing functionality within the Luna storefront. This team collaborates with many teams across the Luna organization, and is an exciting opportunity for an engineer looking to contribute to innovative customer facing features.

For this role, our ideal candidate will have experience working in Android applications, React applications, and in service-side development.

Key job responsibilities

As a Software Development Engineer II at Amazon Luna, you will play a crucial role in building and enhancing features that directly impact end users, leveraging Web UI, Android and service-side development. This role requires a full-stack development background, enabling you to work seamlessly across the entire technology stack to deliver a smooth and engaging user experience. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the features are scalable and meet high standards of quality. Additionally, your operational experience will be key in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving operational issues, ensuring the stability and reliability of the services provided to Amazon Luna customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1 years of Android development experience
  • 1 years of full stack development experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
