- 8 years of progressive manufacturing operations experience, including 5 years in space/aerospace hardware production
- 5 years of people leadership experience managing large, complex teams (50 employees) across multiple shifts and disciplines
- Demonstrated track record of leading strategic manufacturing initiatives with P&L responsibility
- Experience scaling operations from low to high volume production
Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. The Sr. Manager's responsibilities will include defining and implementing the strategic vision for his value stream to achieve scale and overseeing the daily operations of the value stream. The Sr. Manager and their team will work closely with development engineering for manufacturing process definitions and will leverage our teams in procurement, manufacturing, and supply chain to enable high-volume production throughput. Key job responsibilities -Manufacturing & Environmental Test Operations and scale satellite manufacturing operations, including assembly, integration, and test activities -Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to meet production targets and quality standards -Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce cycle time -Establish and maintain manufacturing metrics, KPIs, and reporting systems -Oversee factory layout, workflow optimization, and capacity planning Direct environmental test operations including thermal vacuum, vibration, and acoustic testing -Manage test facility operations, maintenance, and capability expansion Ensure compliance with test specifications and quality requirements -Drive test schedule optimization and resource allocation -Oversee test data collection, analysis, and reporting systems A day in the life About the team Here at Amazon we embrace our differences. They will have end to end responsibility for manufacturing some of the most critical and complex technology products. About the team Project Kuiper's mission is to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Production of Kuiper's development satellites takes place in Redmond, WA, and we have announced a new full-rate production facility in Kirkland, WA that will meet the demands of the full constellation.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,600/year in our highest geographic market. - Master's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business Administration Experience with satellite production and testing in New Space companies
- Strong background in lean manufacturing and six sigma methodologies
- Experience with automated manufacturing systems and Industry technologies
- Knowledge of relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to drive innovation in manufacturing processes and test methodologies.
- Experience with optics manufacturing.
