As a Product Design Manager on our team, you will manage a team responsible for the mechanical design, development, and quality of consumer electronic products. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast paced start-up like environment and want to invent the future.
You will lead a PD team to create a new experience and work with the team at large to ensure a functional and beautiful product. To be successful you need to be highly motivated, understand how to solve problems and dive deep while delivering to the highest standards.
You will demonstrate a strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, with expertise in systems integration; the desire to learn from new challenges and the problem solving and communication skills to work within a highly interactive and experienced team.
Candidates must show a hands-on passion for their work and be able to communicate their ideas and concepts both verbally and visually. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to integrate feedback and to respond quickly to changing contexts and work environments. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $135,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $234,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. In This Role, You Will
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, with expertise in

- Lead the hiring process to build teams
- Mentor and manage engineers in good product design practice, skill development, and career growth.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and career management of team
- Support positive team interactions to accomplish program objectives
- Provide cross-functional program integration support to insure team success
- Manage schedules and milestones
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prepare and deliver updates to the Executive team when necessary
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7 years in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
- Engineering leadership in some capacity. Either an engineering lead position, program management position, technical mentorship, etc...
- Experience in mechanical product development at volume.
- CAD Skills
- Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience working as a technical people manager of mechanical engineers. Creo Parametric CAD experience
