Key job responsibilities
As part of the leadership team, you will work on developing the systems and strategies that will be used by Amazon worldwide and you will regularly interact with senior leadership. You will work with the business teams globally to define organizational roadmaps, drive execution of technology projects, drive operational excellence initiatives and manage technology operations. You will build, manage, and mentor a high-performing engineering team towards achieving a focused mission. Youll work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and will lead not only at the strategic level, but also tactically day-to-day by diving deeply into business and technical domains.
A day in the life
You will lead a team to deliver highly scalable systems and contribute through system design, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment. You should enjoy working on complex system software, focus on customer, and feel strongly about building good software as well as making that software achieve its operational goals. Experience with building and operating web-based applications and / or web services-based applications, especially at large scale, will be very applicable and helpful.
About the team
Our team builds products and technology to support drivers and other users within the Amazon Middle Mile network. We focus on safety, sustainability and operational efficiency to help our drivers deliver for our customers.
Basic Qualifications
- 3 years of engineering team management experience
- 7 years of engineering experience
- 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software / hardware / networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
