Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security is looking for an experienced and results oriented Product Compliance leader to lead the compliance engineering strategy and global regulatory vision for AWS’s hardware products. This role will manage a team of engineers and compliance subject matter experts, responsible for compliance requirements for AWS, as well as the strategy for AWS to meet and exceed market access compliance requirements across our growing international footprint.
You will own strategy and execution across multiple compliance domains – including, safety, EMC, energy efficiency, and materials/restricted substances compliance. This work extends across the entire hardware lifecycle, from initial design to delivery and management of ongoing compliance reporting. You will build and oversee the team structures which evaluate, measure and mitigate risks across these compliance domains and market access requirements via measurable compliance metrics and ongoing tracking. You will interact across multiple internal teams, including Supply Chain, Legal, Hardware Engineering, Public Policy, and others. Additionally, externally – engaging with regulators, industry groups and others to influence global policies and standards.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $140,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $300,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. - Evaluating and mitigating product design and global regulatory risks related to safety, EMC, energy efficiency restricted substances, and others
- Develop and maintain compliance documentation and traceability systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle
- Establish measurable compliance metrics and tracking systems
- Drive process improvements to enhance scalability and efficiency

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Experience managing compliance and/or regulatory compliance for hardware, preferably in an Engineering, Technical Management, or related capacity
- Experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, or related field
- Experience with hardware product certification processes
- Experience in people management and risk mitigation
- Strong business acumen including experience working with finance, tax, and supply chain to define scalable cross-functional process
- Direct domain experience with EMC, Safety, Restricted Materials, and/or related compliance programs
- Strong understanding of international product regulations and compliance requirements
