Senior Software Development Engineer - EBS Data Services
Amazon Web Services is looking for senior engineers to help us define and build the future of computing. The AWS Elastic Block Store (EBS) service delivers high performance virtualized storage "in the cloud" for EC2. Data service offerings are the differentiating factor that drive customer adoption of AWS and EBS within public cloud marketplace. As a member of the EBS team you'll work alongside bar-raising engineers and leaders to develop and operate one of the largest distributed storage systems in the world. We strive to delight our customers with features that simplify their business and operational workflows while staying conformant to security and performance requirements
We are looking for a senior software development engineer for the Data services group that owns features leveraged by AWS customers to run and manage their workloads on EBS. You will be part of a team of engineers that develop and maintain services using C, C , Java that enable our customer to securely backup, restore and move data while maintaining the durability and performance offered by EBS volumes. You will lead key architectural changes that drive impact at scale. You exemplify good operational practices and high standards of coding practices.
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Basic Qualifications
- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5 years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
