Amazon Web Services (AWS) Hardware Engineering team creates compute and storage server designs for Amazon’s web services. Our engineers work with leading edge technologies, solve challenging problems, influence the industry’s roadmaps, and develop new and unique solutions that are ahead of the pack. It is because of the team and our constant focus on the customers, that we are able to develop creative and new designs that set the standards on performance, quality, cost, and operational excellence.What you will do: As a member of the Server Hardware Engineering team you will will be responsible for leading multiple simultaneous hardware product development programs in a highly cross-functional environment which includes internal customers, external vendors and technology partners. You’ll provide leadership in the application of new technologies to large scale server deployments in a continuous effort to deliver a world-class customer experience at a world-class cost point. You will work closely with your customers to understand their short and long term business goals and product needs. You will be responsible for the delivery of platforms through driving and coordinating the efforts of an interdisciplinary team across hardware design, component development, firmware, test, and qualification, along with external suppliers and design partners to develop, deploy at scale, and provide ongoing operational support for the servers you deliver. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position with significant impact on the future of the cloud. You will have high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve your products’ performance, quality, and cost. You will be responsible for both delivering products to the roadmap, as well as continuously raising the bar on how we develop and support your products. Basic Qualifications

  • 5 years of technical product or program management experience
  • 7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
