Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Data Center Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting data center equipment, ensuring optimal performance of network systems, and supporting various IT functions. This role requires a strong understanding of computer hardware, networking, and the ability to work with various tools and technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 years of computer networking experience
- High school or equivalent diploma
-1 years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with ambiguous environment and calculated risk analysis.
- Experience working in a Data Center environment
- Understanding of network design, protocols and troubleshooting
- Understanding of storage devices
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- An Associates degree or 2 years of professional or military experience in an IT related field
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment including routers, switches, and servers.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on data center hardware.
- Troubleshoot network issues using tools such as an ohmmeter and hand tools.
- Assist in the installation of LAN cabling (Cat5) and ensure compliance with schematics.
- Support VoIP systems and ensure connectivity across all devices.
- Collaborate with IT staff to implement network upgrades and improvements.
- Document all procedures, configurations, and changes made to the data center environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proficient knowledge of computer hardware components and their functionality.
- Experience with network installation and configuration, particularly with Juniper equipment.
- Familiarity with LAN setups and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics related to network infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using hand tools for installation tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Previous experience in a data center or IT support role is preferred but not required.
