As an Applied Scientist in our team, you will be working on cutting edge ways to help customers find the right products and content on their shopping journey. You will develop novel algorithms in areas such as deep learning and reinforcement learning while building scalable industrial systems. Key job responsibilities
Adopt or invent new machine learning techniques in the realm of real-world ranking, recommendation and large language models.
Be technically fearless and with a passion for building scalable science and engineering solutions.
Serve as a key scientific resource in full-cycle development (conception, design, implementation, testing to documentation, delivery, and maintenance).
Work closely with stakeholders to optimize various business operations
Participate in hiring, mentorship and leadership development.
Publish results at peer-reviewed conferences/journals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD, or Master's degree and 3 years of practical machine learning experience
- 3 years of building models for business application experience
- Experience in state-of-the-art deep learning models architecture design and deep learning training and optimization and model pruning
- Experience programming in Java, C , Python or related language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application experience
- Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
