About the Job
As a Critical Infrastructure Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing full life-cycle support to AWS data centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. You will serve as the 'go-to' engineering resource for your region, offering technical advice when needed.
Your Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with data center equipment, creating corrective action documentation and root cause analysis reports.
- Directly support operational issues through ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, and event support.
- Conceive and implement designs for existing data center upgrades, enhancing capacity, availability, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including data center operations, design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety, to maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers.
- Work on concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits, including on-site visits within Amazon's data centers, producing reports outlining risks and recommended mitigations.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.
