The Finance Operations Business Partnership (BP) team is seeking a Finance Manager to join the Amazon Business BP team as a crucial member.
This role focuses on supporting the Amazon Business order-to-cash (O2C) process and encompasses a wide range of responsibilities within Accounts Receivables and Cash Application.
The successful candidate will be tasked with reducing defects, streamlining processes, developing and maintaining operational and business metrics and targets, driving global operational reviews, and spearheading improvements to achieve set goals. As a Business Partner, the Finance Manager will collaborate daily with various teams and stakeholders, including Accounts Receivable Service Centers analysts and managers, Amazon Business Sales, Finance, Legal, Accounting, Tech, Customers, and other operational groups across all levels in a global environment.
The position demands complex problem-solving and analytical skills to effectively manage multiple high-visibility priorities in a fast-paced, often ambiguous setting. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, challenging environment and can drive operational excellence across the Amazon Business ecosystem.
Key job responsibilities
- Define key performance indicators – develop operational and business metrics and service level agreements for programs and processes, and track delivery against global objectives.
- Consolidate inputs, and challenge assumptions, on performance drivers and projections from stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain effective partnership between Finance Operations, Service Centers and Amazon Business Business and Finance teams.
- Obtain and summarize critical data sets to trace defect areas to primary root cause drivers, scope future state solutions, influence road map decisions and measure the effectiveness of solutions that are implemented over time.
- Solve critical customer, process, and system escalations effectively to ensure root cause analysis and effective problem resolution.
- Identify and quantify financial and operational risks and opportunities.
- Support operational escalations effectively to ensure root cause analysis and effective problem resolution.
- Project Management – Lead team related projects, manage process improvement initiatives, coordinate cross-functional efforts, meet project deadlines.
- Catalog and Deep Dive upstream defects to define areas of improvement and lead projects to deliver results.
- An expert writer and able to work with the larger team in driving the right communication strategies, policies and replicating best practices.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5 years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- 5 years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5 years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- 6 years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 6 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6 years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 6 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA, or CPA
- 6 years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6 years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
