Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. - Develop, enhance, and optimize Amazon Food Safety Operations and standard work protocols, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
- Audit and monitor comprehensive programs to drive food safety execution for maximum proficiency and effectiveness
- Proactively identify opportunities for leveraging external expertise, then source, manage, and collaborate with third-party consultants for validations, research, and bench-marking to continuously improve food safety protocols
- Establish and maintain a robust set of compliance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure output performance, track progress, and identify areas for improvement in food safety programs, using data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement efforts

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field
- 5 years of experience managing Food Safety and Quality in a large-scale retail or manufacturing environment (multi-store/multi-plant)
- Experience applying Food Code requirements across local, state, and federal food regulations
- Experience leveraging technology to drive process improvements
- Program management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Master’s degree in Food Science or related field
- Participation in Food Industry Councils and Working Groups
- Online/retail experience
- Proven ability to execute strategic programs across a large scale
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and compelling narratives
- Ability to work independently and autonomously
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
