As an Operations Analytics Engineer, your day centers around analyzing weekly trends and solving operational challenges. You start by reviewing the latest weekly performance reports, identifying any significant shifts in sort center efficiency or throughput.
Throughout the day, you'll dive into data using Python and SQL to investigate recurring issues or bottlenecks identified by operations teams. You'll create visualizations in QuickSight to clearly communicate your findings to stakeholders.
A significant portion of your time is spent collaborating with Sales and Operations Planning teams, providing data-driven insights to support capacity planning and forecasting. You'll also work closely with long-term planning groups, using your analytical skills to inform strategic decisions about network growth and optimization.
When operational problems arise, you'll be called upon to conduct rapid analysis, drawing from historical data to propose evidence-based solutions. Your day often includes cross-functional meetings where you present your latest analyses and recommendations, translating complex data into actionable insights for leadership.
This role requires you to balance strategic analytical projects with responsive problem-solving, always with an eye towards improving sort center operations through data-driven decision making.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field
- 8 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or related occupation
- Experience managing the lifecycle of cross-functional projects, implementing automated equipment and/or integrated systems
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
- Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
- Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma and other operations engineer tools
