The Books Publisher Foundations team empowers publishers globally to bring their complete catalog of books to Amazon's customers, ensuring readers can easily discover and learn more about the books they love. For millions of customers worldwide, Amazon is synonymous with Books.
We are hiring a Principal Product Manager – Tech to lead our Publisher Catalog Solutions charter. In this role, you’ll own the vision and strategy for how Books are published and maintained on Amazon. As the Product leader, you will build critical systems that enable a simple and intuitive set of interactions for publishers of all sizes to provide and manage their Catalog with Amazon. You will bring teams from across the organization and around the globe together to define, build, and deliver on our vision of creating the world's most comprehensive and accurate digital bookstore and drive the development of technology solutions that are at the foundation of Amazon's Books business.
The ideal candidate for this position has high customer obsession, strong influencing and engagement skills, the ability to dive deep and quickly get up to speed on a diverse set of technical and business challenges, and a successful track record of setting the vision for and driving large cross cutting initiatives to completion. You must be able to lead by influence and effectively collaborate with product, program, design, science, operations, and engineering teams.
You are an excellent written and verbal communicator and can effectively communicate complex ideas and information and drive decision-making. You thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work setting, are comfortable with ambiguity, and can effectively manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently while making data- and customer-driven decisions.

• Be a passionate advocate for publishers and readers; understand and articulate their needs, leverage internal knowledge and expertise and external industry research, and prioritize requirements
• Derive key insights from data that help to prioritize investments across an ever evolving and ambiguous set of problems
• Drive the development of strategy, roadmap, and business plans
• Inspire the team with the product vision and work cross-functionally to bring that vision to life
• Write requirements documents, help define use cases and own the business metrics and KPIs for your products and services
• Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic and technical goals
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- 10 years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- 10 years of end to end product delivery experience
- Experience technical product management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
