The Shipper Experience & Services (SES) team is looking for a motivated Principal Program Manager with strong regulatory experience, operational knowledge, logistics experience, and a hands-on passion to dive-deep into processes to support Amazon’s growth in a safe environment for customers, partners, and associates.
Working across procurement teams, transportation services, delivery experience, technology, legal, public policy, and other relevant internal teams at a global scale, this Principal Manager will ensure the safety of our associates and transportation partners by delivering innovative solutions for the safe and compliant transportation of DG, redefining industry best practices and standards, and safely enabling an ever-changing logistics model.
This Principal Program Manager will be required to plan and execute DG policies, controls, and processes to ensure safe and compliant transportation of DG across a global supply chain. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, consultants and regulators, this role will be responsible for driving safety and compliance across customer deliveries and reverse logistics, enabling new selection, and expanding business and transportation models. This Principal Program Manager will need to develop accurate and relevant metric-driven analysis to foster continuous improvement and step-function innovation that will enhance our internal and external customer experience.
Key job responsibilities
• Drive continuous improvement projects across global teams, ensuring Amazon is the leader transportation safety
• Manage a portfolio of projects aimed and building a best-in-class Dangerous Goods transportation system
• Convert large and complex projects into manageable pieces to deliver iterative improvements while focusing on longer-term, large-scale deliverables
• Build collaborative relationships with leaders across regions, departments and business units
• Refine existing program processes in order to more efficiently track and prioritize issues to enable the team to scale their work
• Anticipate project bottlenecks, manage escalations, make tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus operational or technical constraints
• Audit Amazon nodes , and contracted 3rd party shipments.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to work across senior levels of leadership in multiple organizations to align on processes and proposed controls on a global scale while delivering high-quality work on time. This Project Manager will demonstrate excellent judgment and instincts in decision-making, and proactively and continually improve their level of knowledge about Amazon’s businesses, fulfillment models, 3rd party logistics providers, and relevant technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7 years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 7 years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- 7 years in Compliance, dangerous goods or working on regulatory issues
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
