Job Overview
We are seeking a senior security engineer to join our Proactive Security Builder Efficiency team at Amazon. This team is responsible for ensuring the security of AWS services and promoting the adoption of secure-by-default solutions across the organization.
The successful candidate will have experience in identifying security issues and risks, developing mitigation plans, and ensuring the AWS security bar is upheld while increasing efficiency for builders.
The job responsibilities include understanding builder workflows, proposing and designing secure-by-default solutions, representing the team to AWS service teams and security leadership, and preparing and presenting detailed technical information for internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities
- Understand builder workflows to identify opportunities that inject security earlier in the software development lifecycle
- Propose and design secure-by-default solutions
- Ensure we uphold the AWS Security Bar while increasing efficiency for builders
- Represent the team to AWS service team and security leadership
- Prepare and present detailed, written technical information for internal and external audiences
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of experience in network, system and/or application security
- 5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: cryptography, web and network protocols, data structures and algorithms, software development, threat modeling, pen tests, or vulnerability assessments
