The Surface Transportation organization is expanding and introducing new capabilities to our Fleet Management business that supports all Middle Mile assets (tractors, trailers, box trucks, hostlers). In this role you will deliver world class solutions while wearing many hats and working in a highly collaborative environment that is more startup than big company. This role will require strong leadership skills, ability to identify trends with limited data and interaction/influence with teams across Amazon to drive the development of our maintenance business.
This Program Manager will be responsible for defining the vision, roadmap and driving program execution of our Fleet Management business with a specific focus on maximizing uptime for power and trailing units. This will be achieved through deep supply chain understanding, working backwards from customer requirements, and internal alignment with Finance and Capital Planning stakeholders. The role involves day to day interaction with senior Amazon leaders as internal customers, understanding their needs and converting them into efficient business models. The role requires regular interactions with multiple teams and jointly working with them to meet both short term and long term business needs. This position is a multi-faceted role requiring the ability to balance strategy and execution.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Key job responsibilities
- Source, define, build and manage the Fleet Management business.
- Contribute and drive vision for how this program will work and cost.
- Write whitepapers to gain initial buy-in and alignment as well as provide status updates as the project completes critical milestones and time intervals.
- Identify key performance metrics and create a reporting suite that allows for program management when the program is fully scaled and evaluated.
- Monitor short-term, mid-term, and long-term timelines and project phases.
- Lead, develop, and execute on corrective actions related to team and vendor performance initiatives.
- Develop strategies to train and develop Fleet Team Field Members.
- Build and develop vendor performance scorecards and presentations for quarterly business reviews. finance leaders.
- Partner with equipment STL's evaluated equipment quality issues leading to RCA identification.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives to ensure lowest possible total cost.
- 5 years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Fleet maintenance technical or mechanical experience.
- 2 years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
