Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile, portable, hand-held consumer electronics products, like the Kindle and the new Kindle Fire. Key job responsibilities
On this role you will:
- Be responsible for system architecture and development for new product initiatives and feature development.
- Investigate, prototype and deliver new and innovative system solutions.
- Troubleshooting technical issues to ensure the success of new product launches, peeling through different layers of software stacks to root cause and solve the problems.
- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software. Establish architectural principles, select design patterns and then mentor team members on their appropriate application.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Strong proficiency in one of the compiled programming languages: Java, C , or Rust.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of Operating Systems internals, Hands-on experience with device development using Android or Linux.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
