Our team within the Creative X org is focused on creating an engaging user experience through content and interactivity enrichment, while helping advertisers reach their target audience at scale. We're seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a fullstack engineering team and collaborate across functions and organizations to deliver a successful augmented video ads customer experience.
As a Software Development Manager, you will partner with Product Managers to develop and drive the technical roadmap and goals for your team. You will hire and develop the best, driving career development and promotions for members of your team. You will use your engineering and leadership experience to build a culture of inclusion, innovation, quality and customer obsession. You'll work with engineers to create the practices, architectural and technology choices that will drive the business for years to come.
You should have expertise in building performant and robust systems that powers highest quality user experience at large scale. You should love the challenge of balancing operational hardening with speed of delivery. You are equally comfortable leading tactical delivery as you are defining north star vision for your area. You apply your technical expertise and leadership skills to organize and guide your team to solve difficult software problems in a fast-paced environment. You are an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, and use this skill to relentlessly advocate for advertiser and customer needs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of engineering team management experience
- 7 years of engineering experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience delivering products against plan in a fast-paced, multi-disciplined, distributed-responsibility and often ambiguous environment
- Experience building web applications with React and modern web technologies
- Experience managing a team of high calibre Software Engineers developing complex, world class, scalable software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Experience in developing user experience on TV, tablet and mobile devices

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
