As a QAE , you will champion the quality of our features in our development pipeline using both automated and manual tests, reporting and verifying defects, and signing-off on features and release candidates. You will own authoring and the execution of test plans and test cases. You will have a significant impact in the quality and delivery speed of our software, our business, and most importantly our customers. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA in order to ensure the features we deliver to our customers have a high level of quality. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team’s speed, quality and efficiency. The candidate will have good hands-on experience in test automation and testing, with good knowledge of the core software testing techniques and have good communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Our QA Engineers are not pure black box testers; they test at the appropriate level and are able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with scripts and/or user-level automated tools. QA Engineers work with Software Development Engineers, and Business Owners to understand technical implementation of features. QA Engineers will also work with groups such as Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments and regression tests and driving the software development process towards quality focused methodologies, always seeking to avoid defects or find them earlier in the process.

- Collaborate and influence cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and project managers to understand software quality requirements and design effective test strategies.
- Create, maintain, and execute test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios for various software components, including functional, regression, performance, and stability testing
- Perform root cause analysis of complex issues and work with the development team to resolve issues and enhance the overall product quality.
- Proficient in scripting and collaborate with automation engineers to implement and maintain automated testing frameworks and test suites.
- Define key metrics for measuring and reporting on the quality of software products and test effectiveness.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of quality assurance engineering experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $102,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
