DESCRIPTION
Amazon’s Operations Technology Solutions Supply Chain (OTS-SC) team is looking for a skilled supply chain network modeling engineer to help design and optimize our supplier, operations, and distribution network responsible for supplying technology equipment to Amazon operating facilities around the world. The role will involve understanding the physical and digital supplier, distributor, manufacturing, and transportation processes, from original equipment manufacturers to our operating facilities. As part of the Technology Fulfillment Services team you will combine supply chain modeling experience, business process knowledge, data expertise, and analysis skills to identify and drive fulfillment capability improvement and capacity optimization throughout our end-to-end fulfillment network. You will champion a technology-based supply chain architecture that seamlessly integrates the organization's self-operated facilities, third-party partners, and customer sites to enable inventory availability, cost efficiency, and robust risk management.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop supply chain network models on a quantitative basis using analysis tools and supply chain modeling and simulation software
- Create digital mechanisms to perform supply chain network cost and time studies
- Create analysis mechanisms to perform What-if analysis for supply chain node location placements
- Collaborate with sourcing and demand and supply planning teams to determine optimal locations for sources of supply
- Collaborate with fulfillment execution and operations teams to determine optimal locations for operations and distributions facilities
- Collaborate with risk management team to support supply chain network design needs in line with regulatory, compliance and business continuity plans
- Develop mathematical models for use by enterprise resource planning systems to perform least cost routing determination
- Develop and maintain digital twin of the end-to-end supply chain network

You'll collaborate with diverse stakeholders across multiple time zones, diving deep into data and analytics to solve complex supply chain challenges. Your day might involve developing or refining network models, analyzing global supply, demand and operational data, or preparing compelling presentations for senior leadership. You'll balance strategic thinking with practical implementation, always keeping the customer experience at the forefront of your decisions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of end-to-end supply chain network design using simulation modeling tools
- 5 year of experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R, or equivalent) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab, or equivalent)
- Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistics regression, monte carlo simulations, centroid analyses
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management / Engineering Discipline or Master’s Degree in a highly quantitative field (Computer Science, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Machine Learning, Operational Research, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.)
- Tools: Experience in Supply Chain, Logistics and Distribution Simulation tools, Arena, FlexSim, Simul8, AnyLogic, SupplyChainGuru, or similar simulation tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with big data technologies and ETL tools
- Experience modeling and designing materials distribution and logistics networks, both supply and demand sides
- End to end supply chain modeling and design starting from raw materials flow to manufacturing capacity to finished goods to store and forward
- Regional and cross border international logistics modeling
- Inventory origination and placement strategies
