Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. - Set the technical strategy for the team
- Lead complex technical initiatives within the team
- Explore technical needs and bring solutions to the table
- Gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions with a flexible and adaptable data architecture.
- Assist in developing project plans and commitments, and then deliver consistently against those commitments.
- Build good working relationships within the team by communicating clearly both verbally and in writing
- Continuously optimize solutions to improve overall Platform performance, availability and fault tolerance
- Drive Operational excellence through metrics driven approach
- Understand customer pain points, build solutions to make large and/or complex data more accessible, understandable and usable by applications and teams
- Mentor and lead developers by cultivating curiosity, deep technical understanding through collaboration, code reviews, and leading by example.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 7 years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Strong knowledge of SQL and demonstrated ability to apply SQL to a wide variety of business require-ments
- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
- Experience mentoring team members on best practices
- Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc
- Strong knowledge in data warehousing concepts and data platforms and architecture
- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
- Experience operating large data warehouses
- Experience providing technical leadership on high-impact cross-functional technical project
