DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking a Global Category Analyst to join the Global Corporate Procurement team in our new Headquarters in Northern Virginia.
The Global Category Analyst will own project and data analysis leadership in support of: indirect spend analytics and strategic sourcing pipeline development; global leadership and team reporting dashboards; and supply market intelligence and benchmarks analysis. Categories spanning: Marketing, Professional Services, Software and Technology, HR, Travel, Temp Labor, Construction, and Facilities.
Primary responsibilities of this role will include:
• Conduct category spend analysis utilizing data from Amazon’s spend analytics cube and external market data.
• Project manage across global sourcing teams to build and maintain a robust pipeline of recommended strategic sourcing projects.
• Create robust global dashboards to provide insights and recommendations to improve, standardize, simplify, and drive strategy in the organization.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement data, tools, and processes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Basic qualifications
• 5 years of business analytics and strategic indirect sourcing experience.
• Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (i.e., QuickSight, Tableau, or Power BI)
• Knowledge of SQL, Excel Macros, VBAs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 7 years of business analytics and strategic sourcing experience, preferably including 5 years in an indirect procurement function at a multinational corporation with global contracts.
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen including the ability to distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions from large amounts of data.
• Strong project leadership skills, including the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization and time management
• In-depth understanding of complex transformation within spreadsheets containing large dataset.

• Knowledge of ETL process, and scripting language such as Python
