The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is responsible for creating the spaces that inspire Amazonians to make history. The globally diverse team manages Amazon’s corporate offices in more than 60 countries. GREF provides real estate transactions expertise, business partnering, space and occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management, facility maintenance, and operations all contributing to the employee experience and leveraging places and programs to enable culture to thrive at Amazon.
GREF’s Project Management Office (PMO) drives and supports consistency and scalability for delivery of GREF projects, processes, and documentation across all regions (AMER, EMEA, APAC). The Sr. Manager, Global PMO will lead a team of project and change managers in the delivery of global projects of various scale and complexity that transform GREF and help constantly raise the bar for customers. The PMO delivers tools and methodologies that help GREF self-manage projects, and build visibility over all initiatives taking place globally.
As the Sr. Manager of GREF’s Global PMO, you will build strong governance mechanisms over project prioritization, timely delivery, and outcome delivery. Working closely with service line leaders across GREF, you will help them strategize on the transformational direction for their organizations and identify opportunities for them to accelerate delivery by translating strategic objectives into feasible action plans. The successful candidate will have excellent program & project management capabilities, a thorough understanding of the office workplace environment and corporate real estate, and display traits such as quick learning, flexibility, and agility.
Key job responsibilities
· Perform project management and oversight over global complex cross-functional initiatives, from scope to launch, and successful handoff with GREF teams, internal stakeholders and third-party vendors.
· Provide leadership to the PMO FTE and third-party vendor team by being actively involved in scoping of major projects and goal-setting.
· Work with key stakeholders to define project requirements, including business and technology needs.
· Manage project prioritization and drive governance over project delivery and mitigate risks to timely, consistent project delivery.
· Allocate project managers balancing growth opportunities with the needs of the organization
· Maintain optimal staffing levels, raising the bar with each hire and motivating staff to fulfill organizational goals.
· Identify areas of improvement; develop and implement global solutions to address areas of opportunity.
· Ensure team alignment with organizational priorities.
· Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation across the organization.
· Achieve consistency and quality through scalable mechanisms while integrating the diversity of all GREF regions.
· Build strong partnership with leadership, regional service line leads, and program managers to supply strategic support for key organizational developments.
· Manage escalations and urgent needs
· Strategize with project sponsors, challenge outcomes and propose deliverables to ensure fit for purpose and scalable solutions.
· Identify lessons learned and ensure these contribute the growth of the PMO.
· Be a thought leader for GREF in project and change management methodologies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• 7 years delivering cross functional projects
• 7 years of program or project management
• 7 years working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Project management and/or change management certification highly preferred
• Experience in managing and influencing stakeholders, including executive leadership, on a global scale
• Hands-on experience integrating project management best practices, methodologies, and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, PMI, design thinking, Continuous Improvement) in global organizations
• Experience leading global project teams or Project Management Office organizations
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, cross-functional projects preferably in real estate and facilities and/or operations
• Exceptional program and project management skills, including the ability to develop robust plans, allocate resources effectively, and manage risks and dependencies
• Strong communication skills which include ability to moderate large forums and drive groups to build consensus within constrains and conflicting priorities
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams on process improvement initiatives, including use of Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma)
• Proficient in project management software, data analysis tools, and other relevant technologies
• Tech-savvy with the ability to adopt and improve tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
