We are looking for a Senior Camera Systems Engineer to develop optical solutions that require significant innovation for our Amazon Dash Cart team, located in Hudson, MA.
Amazon Dash Cart allows shoppers to checkout without lines — you just place the items in the cart and the cart will take care of the rest. When you’re done shopping, you leave the store through a designated dash lane. We charge the payment method in your Amazon account as you walk through the dash lane and send you a receipt. Designed and custom-built by Amazonians, our Dash Cart uses a variety of technologies including computer vision, sensor fusion, and advanced machine learning. Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Optical Camera Systems Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design features for the Amazon Dash Cart. You will work closely with an internal interdisciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and test. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Work with a component engineering team and product engineering team to provide rapid prototyping and characterization of optics or imaging systems
• Provide support for modelling and design for prototyping and manufacturing of lightguides and lenses.
• Use software tools (LightTools, Zemax etc.) to model system optics characteristics
• Work with cross-functional team to draft component specification, design reviews, work with vendors to manufacture parts and validate results by specifying test parameters and methodologies
• Communicate and manage overseas component manufacturing vendors

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience developing products from concept to mass production
- More than 5 years experience designing and testing RF electronics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
