Seller External Relations Research & Insights team seeks a Sr. Research Manager to help measure perception among our key external audiences and lead strategic research efforts to help drive perception. We are looking for an individual with a strong market research background and a passion for solving unique problems to help us drive world class market research. Key job responsibilities
- Lead design and execution of primary research studies (leveraging both qualitative and quantitative methods) to generate actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholder teams
- Lead foundational research to help understand how to influence and move the needle on perception metrics
- Lead research and analysis that helps measure the impact of programs and initiatives on perception metrics
- Apply sound research and business acumen to help the business not just solve complex questions but help it look around corners
- Own all aspects of the research lifecycle (methodology/study design, budgeting, programming, execution, analysis, reporting and communication), including regularly consulting with partners on how to use research effectively to drive business impact.
- Build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external agency partners
About the team
The Seller External Relations (SER) team is responsible for ensuring that Amazon’s stores are a great place for third-party sellers, especially for small businesses, to build and maintain thriving businesses. The team engages with third party sellers to amplify their stories and voices externally and advocate for them internally to ensure the intended and perceived seller experience mirrors the reality.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8 years conducting quantitative and qualitative research end to end (identifying appropriate research methods, designing, executing, analyzing, and drafting actionable recommendations from primary research)
- Expertise in qualitative research methods (ethnographies, in-depth interviews, focus groups, diary studies) and quantitative research methods (e.g. factor analysis, regression analysis, clustering) & mixed method studies (e.g. segmentation)
- Experience using statistical software like SPSS/SAS or similar
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in business, marketing, statistics or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- US and international work experience
- Master’s degree or higher
- Exceptional written and oral communication abilities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $112,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $186,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
