Key job responsibilities
• Pioneer hyperscale systems utilizing the latest AWS technologies
• Architect and implement real-time security solutions that push the boundaries of cloud scalability
• Work at the forefront of cloud and container security

• Collaborate with Amazon's defensive security and management teams across the globe
• Directly impact the security of Amazon's diverse business units, including Fulfillment Centers, Physical Stores, Whole Foods, and Amazon Fresh etc.
A day in the life
As a member of the team, your duties will range from system/software design, AWS configuration, software feature/library development, strategic technical planning, and partnering with several security and technical teams worldwide. One day you might be helping a business onboard to our mission critical security systems, and the next day you may be advocating for a feature rewrite based on a deep dive analysis you performed. You will be part of making the team your own. We believe in a self-organizing team. As a lead engineering in the team you will help shape team process, outcomes, and goals as part of interactions with Senior Amazon Leadership. Each day you will achieve new successes as you adapt to Amazon scaling, new bad actors arising, and emerging technologies being added to your portfolio. You will shape, form, and deliver all aspects of the software and operations that your team delivers to enable defensive security and security management success.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 7 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 10 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Hands-on experience with hyper scale applications development using AWS technologies and infrastructure as code (IaC). Experience in a relevant field or professional security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP).
