DESCRIPTION
AEE Science and AI team is focused on advancing customer experience on 1) Expansions: building the end-to-end Day0 search relevance models (ranking and matching) for new Amazon marketplaces, 2) Exports: improving the search relevance for cross-border (exports) customers, and 3) Emerging Markets Retail Efficiency related initiatives. We focus on algorithms and machine learning model developments, and optimize for recall (completeness) and precision (accuracy), measured through Spare Result Rate (SRR) and Irrelevant Result Rate (IRR) respectively. We are also leveraging Generative AI and LLMs to improve retail operations and reduce cost-to-serve.
The Technical Program Manager position is a role for technical leaders with accomplishments in program management with deep tech skills. The ideal candidate is curious, detail oriented, comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in different countries, energized by technical problems and logistical challenges, and comfortable diving deep. If you feel excited by the challenge of launching search experience for Amazon customers in a new country setting the course for large country wide initiatives, building and launching customer facing products in international locales, and being hands-on involved in the delivery of these initiatives, this may be the next big career move for you.
Key job responsibilities
As a Technical Program Manager on the team, you will have end to end ownership of cross-functional projects, including roadmap planning, resource planning, stakeholder management, and project execution. You will work closely with engineering, business, and operations teams to ensure smooth coordination, execution, and launch of search experience in new stores.
At the heart of this role is delivery. You will be hands-on in driving the delivery of critical business initiatives, managing all aspects of the project such as project planning, risk management, communication, and implementation planning. You will be a technical problem solver on the team, identifying innovative solutions to project deadlocks and resolving issues and constraints through negotiation, diplomacy, and sound judgment. You will be responsible for making project decisions and achieving tactical goals while retaining a strategic focus.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of technical product or program management experience
- 7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3 years of software development experience
- 5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
