We partner with in-house technologists, scientists, and Search builders (500 Partner organizations) to successfully experiment and launch high-value strategic search experiences. We do this while maintaining Amazon customer trust through investment in future-looking architecture and tooling that enables fast and safe experimentation, ensuring all customer-facing features are highly available, performant, and defect-free.

Key job responsibilities
The Sr TPM will own programs, planning, and client engagement while building internal mechanisms to maximize productivity across engineering teams distributed across multiple locations. Working with hundreds of client teams, the TPM will partner with other leaders to self-identify and develop customer-facing mechanisms that improve roadmap prioritization, transparency, and customer satisfaction. Leaders in this role must create a culture of innovation, encouraging colleagues to find new and better ways to identify and solve problems.

The TPM will drive large-scale programs, including company-wide Search product expansion and operational cost improvements for Search and hundreds of client teams, while managing complex cross-functional technology initiatives. They will remediate critical problems and manage escalations as needed. The role involves disambiguating complex requirements, driving clarity, building consensus, and defining architectural strategies to meet Amazon builders' needs.

We delight customers when we accurately understand their intent expressed via a query or image, and reflect that understanding throughout the search page - from layout to the search results and navigation. We make shopping effortless by helping customers easily explore our vast selection, narrowing down a myriad of options to a manageable consideration set while providing key information to make high confidence decisions with low post-purchase regret. The Search team designs, builds, and delivers high performance, fault-tolerant, scalable distributed systems used by millions of Amazon customers every day.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5 years of technical product or program management experience
- 7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3 years of software development experience
- 5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5 years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
