What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Technical Program Manager position at Amazon?
DESCRIPTION
Come be a part of a rapidly expanding $35 billion-dollar global business. Amazon Business is a fast-growing startup, innovating and disrupting the B2B procurement process. B2B represents an incredible opportunity to address a vast new market segment and customer base, and is an area of high interest for Amazon. Our customers include sole proprietors, small and medium-sized businesses to large enterprises.
The Amazon Business Onsite Buying Experience team owns the end-to-end website experience for AB customers, from 1) product discovery, 2) setting purchase controls to manage their buyers’ experience, 3) finalizing purchase, and 4) post-purchase experiences. To enable organizations to guide their employees to buy more confidently and comply with organizational goals, we are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead our Purchase Controls space with product areas like Approvals, Budget Management, Business Giving, and Business Order Information (BOI). These areas are pivotal to represent the voice of the business, and help organizations unlock the full potential of Amazon Business.
The role deals with significant ambiguity, arising from the need to understand stakeholder teams’ business goals, product requirements, technical systems that are vastly complex, and coordination and collaboration with multiple partner teams. You must be a passionate advocate for the customer, always looking to invent and simplify on their behalf. You must think big and build a solution that can scale to meet the global needs of thousands of customers spending millions of dollars with Amazon Business each year. You must earn trust with technical credibility, pragmatic decision making, and follow through working with technology teams across Amazon. And you must dive deep into the technical and user experience details to ensure we exceed the high expectations of our customers every day. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, stellar verbal and written communication skills, and a zeal to rapidly test/learn/iterate in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
The role is inherently cross-functional, and will require strong collaborative skills and ability to engage leaders from technical, UX, legal, and go-to-market teams (sales, marketing, and professional services) to drive consensus on tech dependencies, approaches, and ownership, manage timelines and risks, and communicate the progress to senior leaders and stakeholders.
The role will be based in Austin. If you are seeking your next challenge and are intrigued by the aforementioned description, let's chat!
