AWS IoT is a managed cloud platform that lets connected devices easily and securely interact with cloud applications and other devices. AWS IoT can support billions of devices and trillions of messages, and can process and route those messages to AWS endpoints and to other devices reliably and securely. AWS Wickr is an end-to-end encrypted messaging service that helps organizations communicate securely through one-to-one and group messaging, voice and video calling, file sharing, screen sharing, and location sharing. AWS Wickr helps organizations protect business communications from unauthorized access, combine end-to-end encryption with data retention, and safeguard collaboration with external partners.
We are looking for Systems Development Engineers to work as a team that will build and operate AWS IoT and Wickr to air-gapped regions and support government customers operating in those regions. We will also be developing tooling and automation to further enable our builders and services. You'll be part of a world-class team in a fast-paced environment that has the entrepreneurial feel of a start-up. This is an opportunity to deploy and operate systems on a massive scale, and to gain top-notch experience in cloud computing. You'll become an expert at platform diagnosis, response, measurement, and automation. You will design and build the operational scalability that sustains the platform's insane growth.
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 1 years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C , C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 4 years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
- Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
