Ambassador, A Villa Center is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing LPN to join their team! The Assistant Director of Nursing LPN supervises, analyzes, delegates and evaluates nursing services to maintain quality standards of care and advise medical staff, department heads, and Administrator in matters related to nursing services.
Assistant Director of Nursing LPN Duties and Responsibilities :
- Reviews daily work assignments to ensure they meet regulatory compliance and provide consistent staffing whenever possible.
- Assists DON in daily managing of the nursing staff, scheduling breaks, reassigning employees from one area to another area as facility needs dictate, and enforcing policies with the authority to issue Coaching and Corrective Action with HR / Administrator guidance.
- Responsible for recruitment, training, clinical orientation, supervision, scheduling, time cards, and personnel issues in the nursing department.
- Participates with the Medical Consultants and the Administrator in the selection of all potential new admissions to the facility and assess items needed in the facility to meet the new resident’s needs, admission, retention, and discharge of residents.
- Ensures necessary equipment, supplies, and staffing are available for the delivery of the prescribed resident / patient care.
- Manages the nursing department budget and provides Administrator with budgetary planning information related to equipment needs and staffing.
- Completes rounds of the facility at least daily to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Collaborates with the DON and Administrator in the planning of staff development programs that will enhance staff knowledge in providing quality resident care.
- Works with regional personnel to continuously improve the quality of resident / patient care.
- Strategic plans or program development for improved outcomes to reduce unnecessary returns to acute care.
- Mentors nursing leaders and prepares for succession planning of role.
- Ensures that all elements of the facility’s Abuse & Neglect policies are maintained and enforced.
- Knows Resident Rights. Helps the residents / patients exercise and / or protect their rights.
- Follows and adheres to company policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
