Ambassador Personnel is seeking an Electrical Engineer with civil experience for their client in Montgomery, AL. This is a direct hire opportunity with competitive pay and benefits. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing and overseeing the electrical systems within buildings, transportation networks, water treatment plants, and large-scale civil structures. The Electrical Engineer ensures that safety standards and operational requirements are followed to ensure incorporation of electrical systems into the overall structural design. The Electrical Engineer should have a solid understanding of local, federal and international electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Job responsibilities:
- Create plans for power distribution systems within building structures
- Assess and determine electrical capacity and proper equipment sizing for structures (i.e. transformers, swtichgears, generators, electrical panels, cabling, etc.)
- Collaborate with architects, contractors and other engineers to ensure overall design integrity is maintained while properly placing electrical systems
- Create budgets, bids and proposals for electrical projects
- Oversee projects to track progress and manage cost within budgetary limitations
- Create redlines, adjustments and modifications to drafts and drawings to resolve any electrical issues that arise during construction
- Travel to construction sites to ensure proper execution of design and quality standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent job experience
- Proficient with electrical design software (e.g. Auto CAD and Revit)
- Knowledge of domestic and international electrical codes
- Ability to work in metric units
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a collaborative environment with other engineers and construction teams
- Ability to obtain a passport for domestic and international travel, as needed
- Requires successful completion of a drug test and background check
- Previous experience in healthcare and government projects
